The Local Fund

We believe that opportunities begin when a person is given a “seat at the table”. One of our most beloved core values is to “Give Back Generously”.

In 2025, in honor of our 15th Year Anniversary, the PlanNorth team created a self-funding, privately held 501c3 nonprofit called “The Local Fund”. Through the hard work and the generosity of the entire team, PlanNorth was able to provide start-up funding for this organization with a $65,000 donation.

We’ve got another core value that we love: “HAVE FUN”. On that note, a community-wide concert will be held at the Washington County Expo on March 21, 2026, with the purpose of raising money to “create new seats at the table” for people in the community. We are asking our town to support our efforts by buying tickets to the event and coming out to have fun! If you can’t come, consider buying tickets for a deserving group and pass on the joy to them. CONCERT ENTERTAINMENT INFO AND TIMES PENDING, please save the date!

With the profits from this event, the Local Fund will then make financial gifts into the community to promote “seats at the table” in THREE WAYS:

  • In support of other nonprofit community organizations (ie, growing the number of seats and opportunities at an “already existing table”, ex: sponsoring the band or youth sports teams as a whole, purchasing meal tickets)
  • To assist a person in the community with an opportunity (ie, “providing a seat at the table”, ex: little league or music lesson fees for a child, or purchasing student art when the proceeds go to the child)
  • Contributing towards accomplishing good in the community where such efforts do not yet exist (ie, “building a new table”, ex: athlete injury prevention and recovery programs)

A board of proven local leaders was created to steer the vision of The Local Fund. Directors include LaToya Beal (President), Fay Janes-Busse (Vice President), Katie Burch (Secretary/Treasurer), Joshua Wright (Director), and Zack Zorn (Director).
